2016 has been a tough old year. Weâve lost greats like Alan Rickman and Harambe, Brexit happened, and then thereâs Trump (the less said about that, the better).
But during all the bad times, the 5SOS boys have been there to make us smile. Not only have they produced some absolute bangers, but theyâve also melted our hearts, and made us generally really proud to be part of the fandom.

And now the 5SOSFam have yet another reason to be proud of the boys, because itâs just been announced that theyâre the most talked about band on Tumblr for 2016 â and thatâs a SERIOUS achievement.
KINGS.
Speaking about the bandâs journey to the top spot,  Tumblrâs content insights manager, Amanda Brennan, told Billboard:
â5 Seconds of Summer getting to No. 1 wasnât surprising; they were No. 1 most weeks on Fandom Metrics. And I think of a lot of it just has to do withâŠcute boys from Australia making really relatable music thatâs fun. You donât have to be into pop-punk to like 5 Seconds of Summer. They have this mass appeal that anyone can pick up and be really excited about them. â
Damn straight, Amanda.
Turns out smutty  5SOS fanfiction is actually pretty good, really.
