Well, hello, don’t mind us as we try and keep calm because we have the new covers for Malorie Blackman’s ‘Noughts and Crosses’ series. They are here and hey are a thing of MAJESTIC BEAUTY AND JOY! Anyone that appreciates a well thought out rejacket will be jonesing for this to add to their collection. Let the countdown to release on April 6th BEGIN!
And yes, preorders are live. Right here. You’re welcome.
If you’re new to this fanwagon, let us catch you up before we assault your eyes with gorgeousness:
‘Nought and Crosses’ is *probably* Malorie Blackman’s best and most iconic work. Although, admittedly, she’s an auto-buy author for us MP! staffers, and we are partial to her latest ‘Chasing the Stars’.
Following a pair of star-crossed lovers in a tale you might recognise on the surface as being similar to Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’. But it’s much deeper than that, Sephy is a Cross, and a member of the dark-skinned ruling class, and Callum is a Nought.
He’s colourless and his people have a complex history with the Cross society. So when they start falling for each other? Ooh. It’s dangerous.
Thematically exciting, taking on topics including racial prejudice, terrorism and, of course, the power of love, it’s YA canon y’all and you need it on your shelf now more than ever.
Catch her talking about her books, including ‘Noughts and Crosses’ here:
But we know what you came here for. So without further ado (and much fanfare and glitter) here they are! The new covers for the ‘Noughts and Crosses’ series. BEHOLD!
And they get better.
We’re in love.
You want them, don’t you? We see those grabby hands. They’re available from April 6th. Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
