It’s official. Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ has been confirmed as the biggest selling album in America for 2014.
Don’t act like your surprised Tay.
The amazing as fudge album which was released back in October
and is still on repeat in our office and car has sold 3.66 million copies over the past nine weeks. Yeah, that’s a lot of albums.
Swifties closest competition came from those cold guys and gals over in Disney’s ‘Frozen’ soundtrack camp.
Nielsen SoundScan (the baes who tot up all the sales in America) shows that ‘Frozen’ was the top seller for the first 51 weeks of the year but lost out to Taylor in the final days of 2014 when she sold 326,000 units.
‘Frozen’ which was released in 2013 has now sold 3.53 million copies in the US to date, while Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ came in third place with 1.13 million.
Basically Taylor slayed everyone with only 2.5 months of the year left. Standard.
