Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ sold 1.287M copies in the US. In one week. Beat that.

All you have to do was SLAY

So far in 2014 no other album has sold more than 1 million copies, but on the 27th October 2014 Taylor Swift graced the world and the music industry with ‘1989’.

A week after, according to Nielsen SoundScan, Slaylor, sorry Taylor Swift’s ‘1989′ has sold 1.287 million copies in its first week of release.


After slaying the initial estimate of 750,000 copies reported by Billboard, ‘1989’ is officially the largest first week sales since 2002, when ‘The Eminem Show’ by Eminem sold 1.322M in its first week.


It also makes Tay Tay the FIRST EVER ACT to have 3 million selling weeks:  ‘Red”s 1.208M and ‘Speak Now”s 1.047M.

Meanwhile, Slaylor  announced her 1989 World Tour, including a trio of UK live dates.
