Six Questions we ask everybody with… De’Nova

Good news everybody, we’ve found new popstars! So, obvs, we sat them down and asked them the six questions that we’ve asked many before them. Meet De’Nova, a pop/rock/indie trio that want a cat named Purry Edwards. Amazing.

1. Tell us why we should listen to you in 140 characters or less…

If you want catchy melodies, banging riffs and hits written in a bedroom, then we’re your new favourite band!

2. If you had to compare the sound of your music to a crisp flavour, which would you pick and how do they relate?

Ready Salted. The original OG. DE’NOVA ticks all the boxes.

3. What was the first single you ever bought and has it inspired the music you release today?

Kevin: “My Chemical Romance – ‘Helena’. Tune. I remember at the time I really enjoyed how anthemic and intense the chorus was… and it still gives me a buzz today”

Luca: “The first single I think was ‘Move Along’ by All American Rejects when I was like 12 years old – I remember loving the production on that entire album, especially the chorus melodies.”

Sam: “Probably ‘American Idiot’ by Green Day. It introduced me to power chords and I  learnt how to play a ton of Green Day songs on bass after that!”

4. Picture the scene… You have found a time machine and been sent back to the year 1996. You have been selected to become the member of a band known as the Spice Girls. What would your nickname be?

Kevin: Adobo with a dash of rice Spice.

Luca: Where’s my chicken Spice?

Sam: Spice-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

5. If you were given a pet cat and told you had to name it after an existing popstar, what would you name it?

Kevin: “Well, if it was a ginger cat, Ed Sheeran, but if it was one of those shaved cats with no hair I’d go for 2007 Britney.”

Luca: “Michelle McManus.”

Sam: “Purry Edwards.”

6. Can you tell us that you love us?
