The truth behind the ending of One Direction’s ‘History’ music video

So it’s roughly been a week since the One Direction boys decided to hit us right in the feels and release their most anticipated music video, ‘History’.

No amount of warning could’ve prevented us from crying for hours, while feeling nostalgic at the same time.

However, everyone lost their mind once the ending rolled in.

Some people read into the ending, and started to come up with theories about how the boys walking in different directions is a sign of them splitting up.

But, don’t worry! We’re here to put your fragile heart to rest.

Ben Winston, Calvin Aurand and Gabe Turner have revealed the original ending was a very different story before they decided to cut it.

Interesting indeed!

Speaking to MTV about it, Ben said: “Well actually, I see that a bit too much has been read into that one. I think too much has been read into that ending where they walk off in different directions. Because actually, they do run back together at the end. But I don’t know why…Gabe, why did we cut that last shot where they run back together at the end??”

Yeah Gabe!…

Gabe explained: “?It just didn’t look that great. But there certainly wasn’t any… it wasn’t supposed to be them walking off, it was just kind of like an, ‘OK, see you in a bit, guys,'” with Ben adding: “?Yeah, we probably should’ve included that ending, because people have read into it.?”

That’s a relief, innit?

Don’t worry, Calvin also had his input for the situation; which can be identified as the cutest input EVER. “??I would say, from day one, they’re brothers. That’s what they are. And they’ve been that way since day one. I’ve just never seen them to be anything but brothers. They have each other’s backs and that’s what they do. I mean, I don’t think you can accomplish what they’ve accomplished without understanding the common goal and then going and making it happen. And I think ultimately, too, they’re all so focused on the fans.”

How cute?

It get’s even better!

“If you watch their social accounts — and their personal social accounts, I’m not talking about the One Direction account, I’m talking individually — they’re always so gracious to the fans and know how important they are to them. So I just think that that’s kind of the commonality. That’s always been the one truth from the beginning.?”

Watch the video AGAIN (for the billionth time) here!

Should they’ve added the ending? Let us know what you think of this over at @maximumpop.
