Any of you lucky MP’ers! that managed to bag yourselves a ticket to Jessie J’s ‘Alive Tour’ may recognise the lovely lady featured in this article.

For those of you who don’t recognise her, this is Olivia Somerlyn, and with a number of major labels currently swimming around her, we’re pretty sure you’ll be hearing a lot more from her.

Her brand new single ‘Parachute’ (not a Cheryl cover) – which was co-written by none other than the major stud muffin that is Nick Jonas – will be released early next year.

We caught up with Olivia to speak all about ‘Parachute’ and what she’ll be getting up to this Christmas.

“To me the song is about letting go of a relationship even though that means letting go of the ‘highest highs’ that the ‘Parachute’ is going to bring you up to – because you know it’s just going to push you down again to the ‘lowest lows’. It’s about letting go and making it your decision.”

Where is your ideal Christmas location?
Home! I’ve never been away from my home in San Francisco on Christmas. We always talk about travelling, but it just feels right to be home!

What will you wear on Christmas Day?
Anything sparkly is fun for more formal Christmas parties or events, but for Christmas Day itself – with family – a cozy sweater and comfy jeans or pants. That’s my ideal! I can’t wait!

What’s on your wish list gift wise this year?
I don’t really make a wish list anymore – I’m just excited to spend the day with my family! That’s what is special to me.

Apart from opening presents- what else will you be doing on Christmas Day?
You won’t believe this! We have a gingerbread house decorating contest. It’s become so competitive over the years that I just found a note in my calendar that I wrote to myself last year with a really good idea for my gingerbread house this year! I won’t tell you what it is – I’m hoping I will win!

Do you have a Christmas message for your fans?
I just hope everyone has a great Christmas and break from school, it’s the best. Oh and here’s to an amazing 2015 for us all!

Here’s to an amazing 2015 indeed, we’re sure it’ll be full of Olivia Somerlyn goodness.
