YOU REVIEW: MP!er Leanne shares her thoughts on “Night School:Resistance’ the fourth book in the International bestselling series by CJ Daugherty.
This gripping fourth book of the series tells of how Allie finally faces everything that has been building. The fighting, heartbreak, death and most importantly Nathaniel. But will she be able to survive?
Have you read the first books in the Night School series?
Yes. I am a massive fan of this series. However when I first began reading it, I didn’t think the first book was any good. But I gave the series a shot and let me just say I’m glad I did! These books have blown me away and have defied all expectations.
What genre is Night School: Resistance?
YA (Young Adult), Fiction.
What was the best bit?
Oh, this is a tough question. Resistance is one of the best books I’ve read this year. Night School is a series of books that captures you and doesn’t let you go. If I have to chose a best bit, it’s definitely Allie’s friendship with the people she’s surrounded by in Cimmeria. Even though at a point, she acts upon instinct and unknowingly puts them all in danger, they’re still her friends and have her back.
Was there anything you didn’t like?
With a book as mind-blowing and intricate as this it’s hard to find anything that isn’t amazing. But I do have to pick and the bit I didn’t like was the ending. Cliff hanger much? I threw the book across the room in frustration at how Daugherty left us hanging. All I want to do is binge-read the next book!
Would you recommend this book to your friends?
Would I? I already have! One of my friends is sick of me and how much I went on about this book. I’m not over exaggerating this; Night School: Resistance is a must read for anyone that likes a proper gripping story. A book that you’ll read in a day because you simply can’t put it down.
Word to the wise though, this book is unique in a way that Daugherty doesn’t use any element of the ‘paranormal world.’ This book is so normal you worry that it might actually be happening as we speak.
Would you recommend it to boys and girls?
I’ve always believed that books that fall into the YA category aren’t gender targeted. And this book is the perfect example of my belief. Resistance is a clever book that has the perfect balance of romance and violence -automatically attracting both genders. But mind you for the past four books I’ve wanted to hit Allie and tell her to become more decisive!
Anything else you want to add?
Right down to the main part. Do not read this book without reading the whole series. You will be confused and you won’t react as well as you would have with the three previous books under you belt. Daugherty is an amazing writer who badly needs to give me the next instalment of this unbelievable series.
