How much would you be willing to pay for one of Niall Horan’s snapbacks? Or a photo that once took pride on Justin Bieber’s wall? The people at picollecta.com have investigated the world’s top five most expensive pieces of music memorabilia and we thought we’d share it with you.
At number five is Jay Z’s Roc-a-Fella pendant.
This little beauty worn by the man him self is made from 18k gold and encrusted with real diamonds. It was sold for £2,600 ($4,457) back in 2009. Not something you can just pop and get in Claire’s, we can tell you that.
Taking place at number four is a hand-written letter by the late Amy Winehouse.
Amy wrote this to her former husband, Blake Fielder-Civil in 2008 not long after they got married in Miami and shares a personal look into her life at the peak of her career. The love letter was sold for £2,700 ($4,628) last year. Careful what you write in your love letters, folks, in case you become super mega famous and one day goes on auction.
Rolling in at number three is this Lady Gaga bustier.
Lady G wore this bustier back in 2011 for her performance at the HSBC arena in New York. It was flogged for $4,750 along with a letter of provenance from the events manager of the venue in an auction this April.
At number two is a Rihanna LAPD phone.
When Rihanna recently took a selfie on a police commissioner’s phone with him at a basketball match in LA, she accidentally dropped it. Butter fingers, eh, RiRi? As an apology she signed it so it could be put on eBay to benefit the Los Angeles Police Foundation and ended up going for a whopping $57,000!
Finally at number one is Kanye West & Jay-Z’s Otis Maybach.
For the music video of Kanye & Jay-Z’s collab, Otis, the two rappers drove a modified 2004 Maybach 57. In 2012, it was sold on behalf of Save the Children for a mahoosive $60,000! Wowza.
So, there you have it. Five of the world’s most expensive pieces of music memorabilia. And there we were thinking a 5SOS shirt was a tad on the expensive side.
What do you think – would you pay those prices for something once owned by your idols?
