Jessie J: “Writing a song for Miley paid my rent for 3 years!”

Bang bang into the bank! Jessie J has revealed that royalties she received from Miley Cyrus’ hit ‘Party in The USA’ paid her rent for three years (and then some).

The fierce and talented lady told Glamour, songwriting is where all the money is. Not an entirely fresh revelation.

Jessie, who wrote ‘Party in The USA’ before she released her own singles said: “You’ve got to write songs, that’s where the money is, being an artist. ‘Party In The USA’ paid my rent for, like, three years.

“Actually it was way longer than that. That’s where I get most of my money. I write songs. I’m a singer. I love endorsements and stuff, but that’s all added on.”

Having said that, it’s with great surprise that we discovered that Jessie J didn’t write her recent global hit ‘Bang Bang’ (featuring Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj), which went #1 in the UK and made Top 10 in at least 10 countries.

Imagine how many years of rent that would’ve paid.
