Ellie Goulding breaks ‘Uptown Funk’ streaming record with Fifty Shades track

Ellie Goulding has gone and bagged herself an Official Charts record as her latest single ‘Love Me Like You Do’ has become the most streamed song in one week worldwide.

With a staggering 15,468,762 streams in just seven days, the track lifted from the steamy new Fifty Shades of Grey movie has broken the record previously held by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ million selling number one hit ‘Uptown Funk’.

Speaking of her blooming brilliant new track, Ellie had this to say: “The love for my new song ‘Love Me Like You Do’ is on an immense scale. It’s very hard to take it all in. It means the world to me.”

‘Love Me Like You Do’ has hit number one on the iTunes chart in an overwhelming 63 countries since its release and has topped the Official Singles chart in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Austria, Norway and Ireland as well as spending two weeks here in good old Blighty.

Congrats Ellie, we might just have to go and see Fifty Shades again to celebrate… Any excuse, eh?
