Mark Ronson’s chart reign comes to an end as Ellie scores fastest-selling single of year

Ellie Goulding’s ‘Love Me Like You Do’ has become the fastest-selling single of 2015 as well as knocking Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ from the top-spot after a seven week reign.

The track – taken from the saucy new ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie – has sold a whopping 172,000+ copies in its first week of sale, whilst ‘Uptown Funk’ slips to number two.

In other chart news, Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’ falls one place to number three, Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney rise one to number four with ‘FourFiveSeconds’, and Meghan Trainor rounds off the top five dropping one place with ‘Lips Are Movin’.

In the Albums Chart, Bob Dylan (ask your parents) has claimed this week’s number one with new entry ‘Shadows In The Light’ – his THIRTY-SIXTH(!) studio album.

Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ sold just 5,000 copies less than ‘Shadows In The Light’ and therefore sits at number two. Last week’s number one, Meghan Trainor’s ‘Title’ falls to number three whilst Sam Smith’s ‘In The Lonely Hour’ and Hozier’s self-titled debut album chart at numbers four and five respectively.

Now it’s time to help good ole’ Ellie G celebrate her second UK number one by watching the video for ‘Love Me Like You Do’ below:
