JULIO! GET THE STRETCH!
Fleur East’s impact is very real right now, boys and squirrels. After the all singing, all dancing diva performed Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ on X Factor over the weekend, she left a nation gagging for this mysterious slice of all out, funk pop gold. So much so, that its release date was moved from January to right the hell now. Hallelujah!
The mega party track is currently nestled at the top of this week’s midweek chart and if it holds it ’till Sunday, it’ll mark Ronson’s first Number 1 single, besting his previous chart peak of Number 2 with singles Stop Me and his now iconic Amy Winehouse collab’ Valerie.
It’s so popular in fact, that its now a contender for this year’s Christmas number 1. However it faces strong competition from the likes of Band Aid 30, The Peace Collective, Iron Maiden and this year’s X Factor winner. OH THE IRONY IF FLEUR WAS THE WINNER AND RELEASED HER VERSION OF UPTOWN FUNK.
