Good news for us Brits! Our artists did very well last year.

Turns out that our favourite British artists did very well at selling music in 2015. That’s always great to hear isn’t it?


New figures from Centtrip show that 30% of the best-selling albums worldwide in 2015 belonged to British artists.

Read on to find out who made the list. Yes, One Direction are included.

Queen Adele obvs had the biggest selling album of the year with ’25’ selling a massive 14,970,000 copies.

Ed Sheeran came in third place with ‘x’ with 4,248,000 copies, and Sam Smith also came in the top five with ‘In The Lonely Hour’ at number four with 3,388,000 copies.

8. Coldplay – ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ (1,813,000)

9. One Direction – ‘Made In The A.M.’ (1,792,000)

14. Mumford & Sons – ‘Wilder Minds’ (1,356,000)

20. Muse – ‘Drones’ (1,100,000)

22. James Bay – ‘Chaos And The Calm’ (1,038,000)

23. Florence & The Machine – ‘How Big How Blue How Beautiful’ (1,029,000)

28. One Direction – ‘Four’ (946,000)

36. George Ezra – ‘Wanted On Voyage’ (895,000)

37. Adele – ’21’ (889,000)
