There’s a new top country star on the scene, Brandi Carlile.
Born in a rural town outside Seattle and busking as a teen for years, she has hooked up with collaborators Tim and Phil Hanseroth.
Since then Brandi has toured with the likes of The Avett Brothers and Ray Lamontagne, performed at major festivals around the world, made records with super producers T Bone Burnett and Rick Rubin and gain a ton of passionate fans including Graham Nash, Sheryl Crow and her childhood hero Elton John, who sang a duet with her on her last album. Despite all of the success, Brandi is labelled a ‘best kept secret’
Brandi is getting ready to release her fifth album ‘The Firewatchers Daughter’ on 2nd March 15 through a New York indie label ATO Records.
The first single of Brandi’s brand new album, ‘The Eye’,? a song influenced by Crosby, Stills and Nash, is so intimate and delicate you can hear the quiver of Brandi?s voice in the flawless 3-part harmony.
Her video for her single ‘Wherever is Your Heart’ showcases the natural acoustic sound she achieves during a live performance. Inspired by the Pin Drop Tour and the making of the new album, she has gathered the idea to create live performance videos and integrates the surroundings in a real way. ‘Wherever is Your Heart’ is part two of the series and was filmed in her hometown of Maple Valley!
Playing historic rooms, Brandi and her band have performed songs new and old relying only on their voices, acoustic instruments and the venues themselves. The Chicago Tribune attributed Carlile to proving “that sometimes music has more to say than speakers can communicate.”
Brandi Carlile has released four studio albums prior to the release of her new album. ?Brandi Carlile? (2005), ?The Story? (2007), ?Give Up The Ghost? (2009) and ?Bear Creek? (2012). Bear Creek reached 10 in the US charts, which can only mean greater things for ‘The Firewatchers Daughter’
Brandi will be performing on her Pin Drop tour at Union Chapel, London on Feb 12th and 13th.
Her album is also available to pre-order through iTunes, which comes with an instant download of ‘The Eye’
