Alarm Pop: Bianca ‘Step It Up’ – Pull up your leg warmers, we’re going dancing

Ever wish you could step back in time and go disco-hopping with Madonna in the 80s? We imagine this would be the tune to soundtrack the moment.

Check out pop’s freshest newcomer Bianca, who is seriously getting into the groove with her debut single ‘Step It Up’.

Wait til’ you hear the fluorescent synths and the heavy reverb in the vocals. We almost forgot we were streaming it on Soundcloud and not a cassette player.

Pause the tape. You might remember Bianca from a girl band called Parade a few years ago, who had a Top 10 single ‘Louder’? Well we’re glad she didn’t give up on her dream and she’s forging ahead with a solo career.

The 23-year old singer counts old school Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Pat Benatar as some of her key influencers (if you’re unsure of who these people are, ask mum and dad and be prepared for them to take over your Spotify).

Bianca co-wrote ‘Step It Up’ with Ali Love (who has penned tunes for Hot Natured), Anu Pillai (who has worked with Little Boots and Ladyhawke) and Eliza Doolittle.

Bianca has been in the studio writing and cutting tracks with the likes of Biff Stannard (Spice Girls’ hitmaker), Nexus (who has worked with Lana Del Rey) and Hygrade (who has worked with Cheryl and Britney Spears). We can’t wait for her solo album.
