Who? What? Where? When? Here’s EVERYTHING we know about the upcoming season of ‘American Horror Story’

Here’s your ultimate guide to ‘American Horror Story’ 7

The seventh season of ‘American Horror Story’ is just around the corner and it looks like it’s going to be a real-life, nightmare.

No, seriously, it is.

If you haven’t already heard, the theme for the next season is the 2016 U.S. presidential election and tbh that was terrifying enough…

Obvs, we’re super excited about the forthcoming season. Whilst, ‘AHS: Roanoke’ was a bit a mahooosive letdown in our books, ‘American Horror Story: Election’ actually sounds pretty good.

Showrunner, Ryan Murphy, has even let fans have a sneak peek of one of the monsters we’ll be seeing in it on his Instagram page.

Spoiler alert: it’s not Trump.

Although we have to admit, the two share a very close resemblance.

So, what else do we know about the forthcoming season? Well, sit back and relax because we’ve found out EVERYTHING there is to know so far about ‘AHS: Election’.

What’s the storyline for season 7?

As we’ve already mentioned, the theme for this season of AHS is the general election. That said, very little has been released about the storyline so far – hopefully more information will be revealed very, very soon.

Is there going to be a character based on Donald Trump?

Ryan continues to tease us about whether a Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton character will be involved. One minute it’s a maybe, the next minute it’s a no.

You know as well as we do, how much Ryan likes to surprise fans – so who knows!

One thing we know for definite is that 10-minutes of the first episode will feature real-life footage of the election. He told E Online:

“The first 10 minutes of the season, this season, takes place in a very eerie macabre way on election night and there’s something terrible that happens in the lives of our characters on election night as they’re watching it all go down… which in itself was a horror story, so it’s like a horror story upon a horror story.”

Egh, just thinking about it gives us nightmares.

Has any footage been released yet?

According to Ryan the cast start filming in June – so, nope, no footage has been released yet.

QUIZ: What % Lady Gaga are you?

How does this season tie into the others?

As die-hard fans know, each season of AHS has links to previous seasons. Ryan mentioned to EW in 2016 that season 7 WILL have ties to some of the Freak Show characters we saw in season 4.

“Next year, we will be going back to some Freak Show characters, deeper histories and mythologies. So we’re sort of still exploring season 4 in season 7.”

This definitely proves true after releasing a sketch of the very first monster. After all, it’s based on a carnival elephant. The monster also has a Twisty the Clown-like smile. Yikes.

It’s also worth noting that the Republican Party’s symbol is an elephant. Hmmmmmm…. getcha thinking caps on, gals and guys. We’re expecting some A+ fan theories.

Who’s returning to the show?

So far the only familiar faces confirmed for season 7 are Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.

But we’ve got our fingers crossed that other fan-faves Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Matt Bomer and Angela Bassett will also be returning.

As for newbies, Billie Lourd from ‘Scream Queens’ has been added to the cast. As well as, Billy Eichner.

When’s it out?

Typically the show airs early October. That said, last year ‘American Horror Story: Roanoke’ aired a little earlier on 14th September.

No define date has been set yet. But we’re imaging, this season will be around mid-September/early-October time too.
