We’ve another lady pop star waiting to blow up the charts soon. English singer Alexa Goddard has been posting amazing covers of her fave pop and R&B tunes on YouTube since 2010, including a version of Soulja Boy’s ‘Turn My Swag On’ which even managed to chart at number 20 on the UK Singles Chart and number 1 on the Indie Chart. Impressive stuff!
Recently Alexa has caught the attention of Jay Z’s Roc Nation label – home to the likes of Rita Ora and Kylie Minogue – and now she’s ready to unleash her brand new single upon the world. ‘Marilyn’ is a shiny pop ditty with shades of Miley’s ‘We Can’t Stop’ and a wobbly bass line straight out of Lorde’s ‘Royals’, celebrating the need to party and be “someone” like legendary Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe. We’d settle for Katy Perry or Harry Styles ourselves but that’s just our preference…
