Oh wow. There are absolutely no words to describe the emotions we’re feeling after watching the shocking season return of Grey’s Anatomy (lets just add this episode to our saddest moments list).
If you haven’t caught up with the season 12 mid-season finale, we’ve got you covered with a quick catch-up of what went down.
But prepare yourself, because we have 5 moments that made us cry again and again from season 12 episode 9, ‘The Sound of Silence’.
1. MEREDITH GETS ATTACKED
She’s survived a bomb explosion, a drowning, a hospital shooting, a plane crash and her nine lives are still kicking. Meredith is attacked by one of her patients and gets physically abused (this was actually so, so painful to watch and we cried).
2. ALEX ALMOST CRIES
Nope. Seeing Alex almsot cry was enough for us to start bawling our eyes out. Basically this whole scene had us a mess. Thanks Shonda and Denzel.
3. ALEX COMFORTS MEREDITH
HE’S HER PERSON. Cristina chose the right guy to be Meredith’s person after she left. Watching Meredith and Alex’s friendship grow over the past twelve seasons is what makes this scene so raw and emotional. The pain they have both been through, our hearts!
4. MEREDITH HAS A PANIC ATTACK
How does Ellen Pompeo NOT have an emmy yet? This performance was so raw and words could not describe how powerful this was. Yes we cried. Again. For the sixteenth time.
5. MEREDITH FORGIVES HER ATTACKER
Probably one of the most touching scenes was Meredith forgiving her attacker (the patient). After he seized, he had no idea what he was doing and obviously felt terrible once he found out what he did. Forgiveness played such a strong part in this scene and that’s what made it so beautiful. More episodes like this please!
