Zendaya is bringing her girl power back to Disney and we’re so ready for it

Zendaya is making her way back to Disney. But this time, she’s doing it on her terms.

She may still only be 19 but Zendaya is absolutely bossing the game. And she’s putting her boss status on full display in this month’s Cosmopolitan magazine where she also graces the cover for the first time EVER looking absolutely stunning.

With an ever growing music career and a huge role in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man’ movie, many were surprised to learn that she would still be returning to Disney in her role as K.C. Cooper in ‘K.C. Undercover’.

But speaking to Cosmopolitan, she revealed that she would only return under one condition.

“The only way I was going to come back to the Disney Channel was if I was in a position of more power. One thing that is really important to me is diversity on the channel. It’s hard as a young person of a different ethnicity or background to look at the TV and not see anyone who looks like you. Representation is very important.”

Her powers didn’t stop there; Zendaya can now add “producer” to her ever-growing list of talents – she’s now a co-producer as well as the star of the show. Go girl!

In another absolute boss move, Zendaya also revealed to Cosmo how she fired her publicist and isn’t putting up with any kind of racial insensitivity.

“I didn’t like my hair and makeup one time on a photo shoot, and my publicist told me, ‘You should just be happy with it — they haven’t had a black girl on the cover since forever.’ She’s no longer my publicist.”

Ugh, what a woman! She’s also got some strong words about the upcoming U.S. Presidential Elections (“My generation, we really have to step up to the plate and vote”), hooking up with guys, (“Me, personally? I would much rather be in love and have the full experience with the person I’m doing that with”) and so much more.

You’ll be able to get your hands on July’s Cosmopolitan from 7th June in store or digitally. Will you be getting a copy? Let us know @maximumpop
