Your favourite stars guide you through the key moments from Oscars 2017

Their running commentary is a gift

The whole world is talking about the Oscars right now, whether it be about ‘La La Land’ being announced as Best Picture instead of ‘Moonlight’ or Nicole Kidman’s bizarre clapping (don’t ask).

But we love to know what our fave stars thought about the Oscars. Here’s a round up of all the best celebrity tweets about last night:

1. Camila Cabello on Viola Davis’ speech

Viola Davis is the queen of amazing speeches and she did not disappoint. After winning Best Supporting Actress for ‘Frences’ she came out with this poetry:

“People ask me all the time — what kind of stories do you want to tell, Viola? And I say exhume those bodies. Exhume those stories — the stories of the people who dreamed big and never saw those dreams to fruition, people who fell in love and lost,” she said, adding, “I became an artist and thank God I did … because we are the only profession that celebrates what it means to live a life.”

2. Liza Koshy on Best Picture

Bey may have not been nominated for an Oscar, but her having the most liked photo on Instagram certainly earns her an award for Best Picture. Liza Koshy we adore you.

3. Tyler Oakley on ‘Moonlight’ winning Best Picture

The competition was super fierce this year, but we agree with Tyler that ‘Moonlight’ really stood out and its winning Best Picture means that we can now leave the #OscarsSoWhite hashtag from last year in the past,

4. Dan Howell on the ‘La La Land’ vs. ‘Moonlight’ for Best Picture drama

It was one of the biggest screw ups in TV history and one which will be talked about for years to come. It really puts it in perspective that you forgot to hand in your homework last week, doesn’t it?

5. Carrie on ‘Zootropolis’ winning Best Animated Film

‘Zootropolis’ winning Best Animated Film was a triumph. Not only is the film beautifully made, but it is also acutely socially aware. This is the type of film which will shape an entire generation’s perspective and its influence should not be disparaged.

Carrie also nicely summed the Oscars up in one poetic AF tweet.

6. Joey Graceffa on his OTP

Well… when you’re looking that hot, why not shout about it?

7. Hazel Hayes on the Meryl love

In response to her People’s Choice Awards speech, Donald Trump famously called Meryl Streep “overrated” which Oscars presenter, Jimmy Kimmel, decided to joke about during his opening speech.

“Meryl Streep has phoned it in for more than 50 films over the course of her lacklustre career. She wasn’t even in a movie this year – we just wrote her name in out of habit. Please join me in giving Meryl Streep a totally undeserved round of applause. The highly overrated Meryl Streep, everyone.”

David once appeared on TV in Armenia. Apparently, "it was awesome".
