At MP! Towers, our excitement for the return of The X Factor has reached fever pitch and since the TV show’s official Twitter account posted a teaser for their #FifthJudge (see above) this week, we have been racking our brains and losing sleep over who it could be. Now, after days of investigating, we have come up with our shortlist.
Yes, the God of X Factor himself. Naturally, Simon Cowell was the first person we thought of when we discussed ideas as to who #FifthJudge could be. Simon starred as head judge on the famous table for a whopping seven years (still not as long as Louis’ ten!) and as the TV show is run by his own label so surely he’s a shoe-in?
This year’s series already sees the return of one X Factor queen, Sharon Osbourne – of course, so why not bring back another one too? Chezza first took to the judging table back in 2008 as Sharon’s replacement and became victorious twice in a row. Once with Alexandra Burke and a second time with… erm, what was his name again? Oh yeah, Joe McElderry! With Girls Aloud splitting earlier in the year, Cheryl must have a few spare Saturday and Sunday nights again!
Could the dramatic ‘qutting/sacking/actually I’m not leaving/sacking/actually I have quit’ saga and of course THAT drug scandal all just have been a massive cover-up for Tulisa’s return? The N-Dubz singer mentored Little Mix to become the first ever group to win the talent show back in 2011 and was very popular amongst young viewers.
With Dannii finding popularity amongst UK television viewers thanks to her stint on Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model and her ties to The X Factor Australia, we’d be very happy to see her return to our weekend viewing schedule. It’d be very exciting seeing her return and facing those Simon Cowell affair rumours as well, wouldn’t it?
Even though she’s never been a permanent judge, we have to say Mel B is one of our favourite guest judges EVER! Her frank, to the point statement are reminiscent of Mr Cowell and we were GUTTED when rumours she would be joining the panel this year turned out to be false. She’s reported to become a judge on ITV’s new show Stepping Out which also starts this weekend but could it all be a cover-up for her (kind of) X Factor debut?
This will probably never happen in a million years but it would be amazing, wouldn’t it?
Being an X Factor winner herself, surely Burke knows what she’s talking about? After her guest judging appearance during the 2011 series because Kelly Rowland was “ill”, we’ve been wanting more Alexandraisms ever since! Please let Alex bring some more “Ok.com thank you” realness to our weekend nights!
After just one year on the panel, Kelly Rowland left us for good but has recently signed up as an X Factor USA judge alongside Mr Cowell himself so she couldn’t have hated the show that much. And with her arch-enemy Tulisa now off the show, is it time for the Destiny’s Child beauty to make her return?
What you all forget, MP! remembers. Brian Friedman, the show’s creative director, replaced Saint Louis Walsh as a judge on the show after he was SACKED by Simon Cowell! However, after just one round of auditions, Si realised that Brian was too critical during the process and swiftly replaced him with er… Louis! And thank the Lord he did!
Let’s face it, X Factor’s #FifthJudge is probably us – the viewing public, using some kind of app that enables us to critique the acts as our opinions roll along the bottom of the screen. But this was fun anyway, wasn’t it?
All will be revealed on Friday so keep your eyes on the official X Factor Twitter and of course, Maximum Pop! Make sure you let us know who you want to be #FifthJudge as well!
