Last week we flashed back in time to ‘Camp Rock’ and this week we’ve gone down a similar path and bring back ‘Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie’. You all remember this right? It was such a great film! So was the TV series.
‘Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie’ was a film based on the Disney Channel Original Series ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’. The film stars Selena Gomez, David Henrie and Jake T. Austin as the Russo family, Alex, Justin and Max – and of course their parents Jerry (David DeLuise) and Theresa (María Canals Barrera).
What happens: Teenage wizard Alex casts a spell that accidentally changes history so her parents never fell in love (oh crap). She and her brothers face a race against time to put things right before they are erased from existence.
So where are they now?
Selena has risen to musical fame. She has currently released her second solo album titled ‘Revival’. Her successful singles ‘Good For You’ and ‘Same Old Love’ were smash hits and the album became #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and was later certified Gold. She is continuing her career in the film industry and has bee added to the cast of ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’. She is also the executive producer in the Netflix miniseries ’13 Reasons Why’, based on Jay Asher’s 2007 novel of the same name. Basically Selena is slaying the game and we couldn’t be more proud.
Since the end of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’, David has been in a number of other films during the years including ‘Grown Ups 2’ and ‘Paul Mart: Mall Cop 2’. David is set to play a younger version of Ronald Reagan in the upcoming biopic ‘Reagan’.
JAKE T. AUSTIN
Jake has recently starred in the groundbreaking comedy-drama series ‘The Fosters’ for two seasons until he left in 2015.
In 2016, he provided the voice for Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle in the DC Comics animated direct-to-video film ‘Justice League vs. Teen Titans’.
So there you have it. Who else remembers this? If you say no, you are lying to yourself. Let us know your thoughts at @maximumpop.
