THE BATTLE OF THE XS! MP! fight it out over who they want to win this year’s ‘X Factor’

‘The X Factor’ final is always one of the biggest TV events of the year!

Your mum, your dad, your grandma, your grandad and everyone else gets involved to root for their faves. And there is blood.

We swear that 76% of Christmas brawls are caused by outcome of ‘The X Factor’.

This year the MP! team have decided to throw their hats into the ring. It’s a friendly match but some of us are getting a wee bit passionate about our faves. Here’s who we’re rooting for…

5 After Midnight

Rachel P: Because life’s better in Twitter bios…I’m head of social media & life & style journalist & . Experienced dog petter, feminist & purveyor of bad GIFs. I’m rooting for 5 AFTER MIDNIGHT, BABY! Mostly because they covered East 17’s ‘Stay Another Day’ and SLAYED. Plus they’re bringing the white puffer back. Everyone loves a white puffer. In all seriousness, though, they’ve been my favourites since the start. I’m all about acts who can sing and dance at the same time.

I definitely think they could win! It’s a 100% YES. They’re amazing! I’m just hoping everyone gets behind them to make their dreams come true. And I really think they would be successful after the show. I would 100% go to see them live, and I reckon there are lots of other people who would, too. I really hope they can do it – they deserve it. As Sharon says, they’re a ready made act (and thou shalt not question Mrs. O)

Matt Terry

Sophie: I’m all about the books at MP!. Cat lover, gig goer, book blogger, Hufflepuff. I’m rooting for Matt because he’s a brilliant singer and not afraid to take a risk and tackle a tricky song. I totally think he could win because he’s bookies favourite and a total dish to look at – hell yeah! I also think he’d be really successful after the show because his voice is incredible and he’s such a nice guy too!

Kat: I’m Kat! I’m a Music Writer. Vegan, feminist, Ariana Grande superfan. I’m rooting for Matt Terry because he’s the best technical vocalist in the competition. All about that falsetto… I’m pretty sure he could win – he’s certainly going to have the girls voting!

Saara Aalto

Rachel K: I’m a Books Writer and Event Reporter at MP!. YA fangirl, Hufflepuff, anime lover. I love Saara Aalto! She’s such an entertainer, she reminds me of a mix between Katy Perry, Gaga and Gwen Stefani. I think she could definitely win. She puts on a spectacle and that’s what people want from a final. And her vocals are always on point.

David: I’m the head of content and music at Maximum Pop! I’m a reincarnated Furby who is on an adventure of a lifetime (to quote Coldplay). I’m rooting for Saara Aalto because she’s a bit quirky and different, plus everyone loves an underdog. I like how she wasn’t immediately very popular in the competition but has worked hard to win over the British public. Plus, I’m a big fan of Moomins. I think she’s definitely in with a shot of winning. And I would love to see her grab the Christmas No.1 with an epic ballad.

So that’s what Team MP thinks, now it’s your turn to let us know who is your fave using the comments box below.

David is the Head of Content at Maximum Pop!

Having studied Russian and Spanish at the University of Leeds, David moved to Moscow to work in the education sector. Upon returning to UK soil, David initially immersed himself in the wonderful world of MP! as a music writer.

Now head of all things content, David takes being a music fanboy to a whole new level, and can often be found dancing like there's nobody watching to 'Shout Out To My Ex', obsessing over Lauren Jauregui and defending Taylor Swift's honour.

David once appeared on TV in Armenia. Apparently, "it was awesome".
