A new, ominous hashtag has appeared on Twitter lately. The hashtag #WHHSH has appeared on news feeds, with tons of mysterious tweets talking about finding their boxes filled with unknown prizes. The bio of the Twitter page with less 1,000 followers says ‘Explore your unscripted self’, however there are thousands of tweets with the hashtag, so what the heck is this?
Well, what we’ve gathered is that it is basically a giant scavenger hunt that takes place in major cities, with prizes kept in little black boxes that get moved. You have to follow all of the #WHHSH accounts to find clues to the boxes, but what is inside is what we’re curious about. Also, who is behind this and what is their goal? We’re wondering what they’re trying to achieve through their mysterious scavenger hunts; a social experiment, a publicity stunt, or something else?
The cities involved so far include:
- San Diego, California: Between October 30, 2015 and November 1, 2015
- ?New York City, New York: November 5, 2015 and November 8, 2015
- Phoenix, Arizona: November 9, 2015 and November 11, 2015
- San Francisco, California: November 12, 2015 and November 14, 2015
Unfortunately, #WHHSH boxes are only discoverable in the US right now, but crossing our fingers that it will come to the UK to give us a chance at finding out what this is all about! For more information and to watch live hunts check out the official #WHHSH Twitter!
