Hair stencilling is the hottest new trend for summer… but what is it?

From tie-dye locks to glitter roots, we’ve seen a lot of hair trends come and go in the run up to summer – but now it’s time to introduce what could be our fave yet: hair stencilling.

Er, sounds cool… but what is it? Well it all started when hair stylist and artist Janine Ker posted the new dyeing technique on her Instagram, using stencils to create literal works of art.

You can create any pattern you like – from crazy polkadots to fancy florals, be as wild as you (or your job!) will allow. Temporary hair colour spray is perfect if you’re looking for something non-committal.

Festival fashion sorted. We’re off to raid Boots’ hair dye aisle.

What do you make of the hair stencilling trend? Hot or not? Let’s discuss @maximumpop
