As you’ll already know, we love books just as much as we love pop music here at MP!, so when our fave popstars pen their own life stories, we can sometimes get a little too excited. And yesterday, we went into popstar-turned-author overdrive as X Factor boyband Union J and Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh released their autobiographies.
Union J’s inventively titled ‘Our Story’ has already received the MP! review treatment and tells of each individual boy’s early life and then how they felt at each moment during their X Factor auditions, live shows and tour as well as the recording of their debut album and the release of their first ever single ‘Carry You’. It’s still a tune, isn’t it?
Whereas Union J’s ‘Our Story’ is upbeat for the majority and stays optimistic for the future, Kimberley’s book tells the end of a massive chapter of her life and is released just six months after the split of Girls Aloud.
‘A Whole Lot Of History’ has received a lot of attention in the press as Kimba lets out some secrets about what it was REALLY like being part of Britain’s biggest girlband for over a decade. Some chapters include details of the band’s fall out with ex-manager Louis Walsh and Kimberley even says she wouldn’t be friends with Nadine and Sarah if it wasn’t for the band. Ouch!
Union J’s ‘Our Story’ is priced at £16.99 and Kimberley’s ‘A Whole Lot Of History’ is priced at £20. But if you go to WHSmith they have a 2 for £20 deal on so it’s basically buy one get one free. We love a good bargain!
