POP BITS. It’s that time of year again where bets are placed and the rumour-mill goes into over drive about who on earth could be releasing this year’s Children In Need single. Last year, the announcement was very nearly made that Stooshe would cover TLC’s ‘Waterfalls’ for the charity before it was cruelly switched to Girls Aloud’s comeback single ‘Something New’.
Front runners for this year’s campaign single were seemingly Little Mix and, following their Comic Relief stint earlier this year, One Direction. But after a showbiz gossip account tweeted and deleted an announcement and since the photo alongside this post leaked, it seems that another former X Factor alumni has stolen the job from them, with Union J looking to be this year’s charity single performers.
No word yet on whether they’ll perform an original song (a la ‘Something New’) or a cover (a la ‘A Night To Remeber’… remember that one? Liberty X?) or whether this is even TRUE, but we’ll make sure to keep you posted. POP BITS OUT.
