Tinie Tempah returns with new single ‘5 Minutes’!

Tinie Tempah’s been “disturbing London” every chance he gets these days but he’s somehow found some time to release a new single from last year’s ‘Demonstration’ album. ‘5 Minutes’ is Tinie’s hardest track yet, and it’s produced by none other than Radio 1 DJ, Zane Lowe. The two met on tour in Australia where Zane showed Tinie a beat sampling an old LL Cool J song, but as Tinie recalls it could’ve have been a very awkward encounter indeed;

“I’d been playing Zane some of the album, and he goes ‘Hey, I know this is going to sound weird, but I actually have something for you’. I was like ‘Oh no, what have I done. He’s one of the biggest DJs in the country, he’s gonna play me something, I’m not gonna like it, I’m gonna have to say yes, take the beat, and I’m never going to do anything with it’. Luckily, as soon as he played it I was like ‘Oh f**k! Yeah, I’m very up for this.’”

Nice save, Tinie. Our only complaint is that the song isn’t exactly ‘5 Minutes’ long but apparently that’s just the radio edit…
