1D’s ‘This Is Us’ smashes first day music DVD sales record. Pop Bits.

POP BITS. One Direction will have a VERY good Christmas with the money they make from the sales of their new DVD ‘This Is Us’, after it has been revealed that the boys have smashed the UK record for biggest first day sales of any music DVD… EVER!

The boys, who sold 170,000 copies of their DVD in 24 hours, have beaten the late Michael Jackson who previously broke the record with his posthumous release ‘This Is It’ in February 2010.

‘This Is Us’ is number one in this week’s DVD Chart beating competition from kids’ films ‘Despicable Me 2’ and ‘The Croods’. David Beckham’s new movie ‘Manchester United Class of 92’ and the latest Superman film ‘Man of Steel’ were also contenders for this week’s number one.

Official Charts Company chief executive (how professional!) Martin Talbot commented on 1D’s victory: “It has been quite a year for 1D and their fans – and they are continuing that right through into Christmas.”

Congratulations boys, we wish you a very merry Christmas and look forward to seeing more of you in 2014! POP BITS OUT.
