The Wanted make US chart history with ‘Glad You Came’

The fantastic news that The Wanted have climbed to Number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 US singles chart isn’t the end of the story – Jay, Max and the rest of the gang have gone one step further and made chart history!

Current single ‘Glad You Came’ has been downloaded in the States by over half a million people, (that would be one hell of a singalong) thanks to sold out shows, appearances on American chat shows and a cheeky cover on Glee – and because of that, The Wanted have not only become the first British group to crack the US Top 10 in 20 months (!) but have also beaten the record for highest charting UK boy band, a title that was previously held by Take That.

With the song sitting comfortably at Number 2 on iTunes, a debut album already being planned and an performance scheduled on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, we reckon this journey is far from over. Put it this way: One Direction have got some catching up to do.
