We love ‘The Selection’. We love its pretty cover; we love how the romance makes us do that weird crazy-smiling, excited-squeaking thing; and we love that we couldn’t put it down until we had powered through it cover to cover.
It follows the story of America, a less-than-royal girl in a futuristic society in which 35 girls are chosen to compete for prince’s hand in marriage. Unexpectedly, America is one of those girls, and quickly finds herself in a competition she’s not sure she wants to win, while rebels threaten to take down the very royal family she’s currently staying with.
Think ‘Hunger Games’ with pretty dresses and less blood.
And now we might just love it even more seeing as the rights to have it turned into a movie have been sold to Warner Brothers. That’s right, Selection fans, America and Prince Maxon are hitting the big screen. Feel free to happy dance and call your families. It’s happening.
Who do you fancy seeing play America? How about Prince Maxon? Let us know.
