Download or Ditch: The Saturdays – ‘Gentleman’

Fresh from securing their first ever Number One single with the literally amazing ‘What About Us’, our favourite female five-piece, The Saturdays, have gone and released long-since-rumoured single ‘Gentleman’ on our ears. But is their new single and new sound more ‘what about us’ or more ‘what the Hell is this?’

Fortunately, it’s a great tune and definitely one of the girls’ most experimental as the girls move to a slick, 90s R&B pop beat and sound. The lyrics are also pretty worthwhile a spin as the girls lament their ability to find a good man whilst on the hunt for a ‘Mr Right Now’. There’s even a rap-sung middle eight where the girls name check every available fella from Ryan Gosling, Barack Obama and Kanye West, which is pretty awesome in its own right.

The tune might take a few spins to wriggle into your brain and it’s certainly no ‘All Fired Up’, but ‘Gentleman’ is a fun, catchy tune destined for the dancefloors when you’re scoping up your next potential boyfriend or moaning about your current one.

Our verdict? DOWNLOAD.
