YOU REVIEW: MP!er Areeba shares her thoughts on ‘The Rain’ by Virginia Bergin. The first in a series of cling to your seat sci-fi thrillers.

Describe the plot of The rain:  in a tweet – less than 140 characters please.
The Rain is about a girl called Ruby who has to battle her way through an ‘alien invasion’ that is issued through the infected RAIN, although the alien is even smaller than a speck of dust. On her way to her birth-father, in London she encounters many obstacles, not only physical ones but also, many emotional ones. We journey with Ruby through an apocalypse, in Britain. To make it even worse she is stuck with the most nerdy, most un-cool person in the whole world (Darius Spratt) and a little kid (BBK) who does not speak.
This is the first book in the ‘rain’ series and I am looking forward to reading the next book : ‘The Storm. ‘

What genre would you class the book as?
I would class the book in the genre of science and dystopian fiction.

What was the best bit?
The best bit was when she was driving and Darius kept telling her what to do. It was so funny. I also liked how the swear words were replaced with a butterfly.

Anything you didn’t like?
Nope. There wasn’t anything I did not like.

Would you recommend the rain to your friends?
I would definitely recommend this series to my friends and I already have.

Do you think it would appeal to girls or boys more? Or both?
I think it would appeal to both girls and boys because it’s got a lot of action and adventure in it.

Anything else you’d like to tell us about the book?
The author of this book is a very talented person and she should keep it up.

Handling emotions and adult stuff like Jess Day and Nick Miller do.
I'm a bit awkward but really nice. I have a turtle called Turtle and I believe in the "You should take a nap every day".
