BBC Radio One’s Teen Awards: The best bits

This year’s BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards was bigger, better and wackier than the last. If that’s possible. If you weren’t watching live or haven’t had time to catch up with this year’s event, here are some of the highlights.

Kicking off the show with a set list of her greatest hits was Miss Ariana Grande. Rocking the stage with her kitten ears, Ariana had the whole crowd jumping and screaming. Ultimate Girl Crush of the night.

Chart topper Ella Henderson had the whole stadium in awe as rows of fan girls wailed along to hit single ‘Ghost’.

Presenters such as Alfie Deyes and Dan and Phil kept the crowd pumped with silly games and screaming contests. Did you know the right side of the crowd were the loudest during the Teen Awards? Well now you do.

Rixton had the whole crowd jumping as they livened up the stage with their new single and old classics we love to sing along to.

The Vamps, after collecting numerous awards, closed the Teen Awards with electrifying energy. Special guest Shawn Mendes joined them on stage for ‘Oh Cecilia’, in a performance that finished off every fangirl in Wembley.

Presented by Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora, this year’s awards was filled with more puns, stupid behaviour and crazy outfits than ever before. But the best part of the night was the Teen Heros themselves, who’s stories had the crowd in tears.

There was even time to mourn the loss of Ashton Irwins appendix.
