OMG! Is Taylor Swift putting her music back on Spotify?

We’ve found evidence that could prove it

We’ve got good news, Swifties. It looks like Taylor Swift MIGHT be putting her music back on Spotify and we’ve found evidence that proves it.

Before, we get into the ins and outs of the story, let’s first cast our minds waaaayyyy back to 2014.

As die-hard fans already know, Taylor took a stand against the music streaming site and removed her whole back catalogue from Spotify following a dispute over artist royalties.

The hoo-ha first started in 2012 when Taylor released ‘Red’. She slammed Spotify for paying artists just $0.006 to $0.0084 per song play.

Later in 2014, the issue came up again and T-Swift decided enough was enough.

Did Ed Sheeran just reveal EXACTLY when Taylor Swift’s album will be released?

When did it become OK to be a dick to Taylor Swift?

She removed every single song from the site and wrote a piece for the Wall Street Journal, explaining her decision. It said:

“Music is art, and art is important and rare. Important, rare things are valuable. Valuable things should be paid for. It’s my opinion that music should not be free, and my prediction is that individual artists and their labels will someday decide what an album’s price point is. I hope they don’t underestimate themselves or undervalue their art.”

With that in mind, fans were obviously surprised to see that Taylor’s Spotify account became verified this week.

The singer’s currently working hard on a new album. Does this mean that when it drops, she’ll be putting the release on Spotify? It’s possible.

Spotify members are super happy about the news.

Eek!

There’s so much excitement.

Obvs, Taylor making a potential return to Spotify would massively impact Apple Music. Ever since she slammed Spotify, Taylor’s music has been exclusive to Apple.

So much so that when she wrote an open letter to the company back in 2015, they completely changed their business plan.

It looks like we’ll have to see how this story unfolds. In the meantime, we’ll be crossing our fingers and our toes that Taylor’s new album will be coming very, very soon.
