Chart round-up: Taylor Swift sneaks up the charts to beat One Direction while Meghan Trainor’s ‘All About That Bass’ is still kicking ass.

Another Sunday means another chart battle you little fishcakes. This week all eyes were on One Direction (as per usual) would they topple Meghan Trainor’s reign at number one?

Well, the answer is no *sad face*.

Meghan Trainor has notched up a third week at the Official Singles Chart numero uno spot with her damn catchy ‘All About That Bass’. It’s now the longest running Number 1 so far of 2014 by a female lead artist. Girl power!

This week ‘All About That Bass’ sold a whopping 109,000 with just over 14% of that being audio streams – no wonder it’s still at the top spot on Spotify too!

Six other tracks have also been streamed over a million times this week including Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’, Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj’s ‘Bang Bang’, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and Sam Smith’s ‘I’m Not The Only One’.

T-Swizzle has climbed up two places to the Number 2 spot after her week of promo in the UK including The X Factor where she shook it off good and proper, live lounge performances AND a London secret session.

One Direction are this week’s highest new entry at Number 3 with the first track taken off their fourth album, ‘Steal My Girl’. Eek let’s wait for the freaky video and see if it goes higher in the charts.

After the release of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing-esque’ video for ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and his recent run on his amazing UK tour he’s scored his highest chart position to date at Number 4.

It’s pretty poptastic in the chart today with The Vamps featuring Shawn Mendes climbing 37 places with ‘Oh Cecilia’ breaking hearts and the charts at Number 9.
