MP! Superfan of the Week: Justin Bieber’s biggest fan account reveals why true Beliebers will never desert him

This week’s MP! Superfan of the Week is one of the biggest and best Justin Bieber fan accounts @JBCrewDotCom. Ofc they are completely hot on their JB news, but also they helped run one of the most successful comps that we have done EVER 😍! We thought it was payback time, and also we wanted to ask them about the burning question of Justin’s rocky relationship with his fans.

It’s Justin vs. The Beliebers: Round 2. Has he finally gone too far?

Let’s get to know the team. Hi there…

Who owns the account?

I am the creator and owner of the account. My name is Lauren Porteous, and I am 19 years old from Newcastle in England. I have a few other team members aged 16-25 located around the world to ensure we can post updates 24/7! We also have an Instagram page with a team of dedicated members who also work super hard.

Why are you a fan of Justin?

He has a good heart and always strives to be the best he can be, which is something I think everyone should do. He also makes awesome music, haha!

How long have you been a fan of Justin?

Since January 2010. I saw him performing on ‘Blue Peter’ – his first ever UK performance – and that was that!

What made you choose to dedicate your fan account to him?

Honestly, it was the only possible choice! I knew it would take a lot of dedication and hard work, but I was so determined to make it work. I’ve always had a passion for social media and creating pages, so it was a no brainer.

Whats your favourite Justin song and why?

My favourite song of his at the moment is ‘Been You’. You can’t help but be in a good mood when you listen to it!

How much time a day do you spend running the account?

It varies, when I had a long break after school ended, I was on the account constantly and often pulled all-nighters to make sure everything was up to date. Now, generally each of us will update the account for anything up to 12 hours a day! If other team members are working or away then those who can, will cover the extra hours.

Praise the lord for your sacrifice…

Has Justin ever noticed the account or engaged? If so how did you react?

Justin follows our account and retweets/likes our posts pretty regularly now, but it’s still cool every time! Occasionally he’ll reply to us or quote one of our tweets, which is even more special. So grateful and I never tire of seeing him in my notifications. Haha!

Have you ever met Justin?

Yes, I met Justin in a meet and greet during his Believe Tour in 2013, and I was also lucky enough to get pretty close during his ‘TFI Fridaytaping’ last year.

Have you seen him perform live? What was his most memorable performance?

I have been lucky enough to see Justin perform quite a few times now. Every time has been amazing, but the most memorable has to be when I travelled down to London earlier this month to meet up with one of my JBC team members, Ellie, and attend the ‘Purpose’ Tour together. This was the first time we had met, and we managed to get pit tickets for multiple shows there, so it was an incredible experience. The ‘Purpose’ Tour show is on another level!

What do you think of Justin’s relationship to his fans? What has made you stand by him when other Beliebers have deserted?

Justin’s relationship with his fans is authentic. I think not taking photos with fans was a great decision, because it means the time that would be spent simply holding a camera in front of him, can instead be spent interacting face to face! This makes for a much more genuine and intimate relationship, for those fans that are willing to sacrifice an image and treat him with respect…

We have stood by Justin because he has been loyal to us. He has a lot of love to give, and is always giving back in one way or another. We’ve watched him develop and grow into who he is now, and we continue to learn from him every day!

Thanks so much for answering our questions. WE ADORE YOU!
