Stooshe on their new album: “It’s more grown up but we won’t lose our sound!”

It has been a long minute since we heard from Stooshe but the brassy trio told Maximum Pop! at the Big Gig 2014 on Saturday that they’re working on their second album.

Karis said the group is exploring different sounds for their follow up to 2013’s ‘London With The Lights On’, which spawned big singles like ‘Black Heart’ and ‘Love Me’.

“It’s a bit more grown up but we won’t lose that Stooshe sound!” she said.

“We’re going back to L.A. in a couple of weeks for a writing trip. We’re going to focus on keeping our sound but also hopefully get something with an edge.”

One of the writer/producers the girls have been in the studio with so far is Mike City, who has done records for Rihanna, Brandy and JoJo.

The girls performed for more than 20,000 screaming guides at the Girlguiding’s Big Gig 2014 at the SSE Arena Wembley on 4 October. The line-up also included Little Mix, Union J, Neon Jungle, Diversity, Mike Dignam and Kingsland Road.

You can catch Stooshe at their next gig at The Borderline in London on 10 November.
