MP!er Hannah reviews Steven Camden’s ‘It’s About Love’ – she loved the screen directions.

Steven Camden is one of the UK’s most well known spoken word poets who branched out to YA lit in 2014 with his debut novel, ‘Tape’. Now onto his 2nd novel, ‘It’s About Love’, Steven Camden proves he’s just as talented in print as he is on stage.

Name: Hannah Shaw

Age: 19

Its-About-Love“It’s About Love” is a very open title. If you wanted to be more specific, you would call it “It’s About…”?
If I could be more specific I would call it “It’s About Us”

What did you think of the cover?
The cover is good. The simplicity allows the secrets of the story to remain hidden within the writing, rather than giving anything away immediately.

Have you read anything by Steve Camden before? If not, after this, would you consider reading his other books?
Before I read “It’s About Love” I had never read anything by Steve Camden before but now I would absolutely read his other books.

How did you find the interspersed screen directions? Interesting, cool, weird?
The screen directions work amazingly well throughout the book as they enhance the themes and work well to foreshadow the events of the book.
