Following my last article on Iggy’s style, I thought I’d do a Rita post due to the hype of the newly released ‘Black Widow’video surrounding the hemisphere of the internet.
Rita’s individual style has evolved over the past few years, she’s always been quite daring, loud and eccentric with her clothing choices and she still continues to raise the bar of how far her fashion choices go. She still channels an urban street chic style, but changing to evening looks she maintains a classic, feminine look that compliments her signature red lip and blonde hair look. Her dress choices for red carpet events gets all the tabloids talking no matter how good she looks, but the best thing about Rita is that she embraces her style and believes style and music go together and need each other, which I totally agree with, don’t you?
Similar to the Iggy post, I have again put together three affordable looks for you which are inspired by different sides of Rita.
No matter what Rita wears, she always looks effortlessly cool and chic. She never let’s us down with her style choices.
When she’s not looking stunningly classic and glamorous in the evenings, her daytime looks are casual and always channels a real urban street chic that reflects her love of British fashion, especially inspired by her love of her home area and the well loved Portobello road.
A regular for Rita is a pair of dark shades to avoid paps…(How celebrity of her?) which always look great on her. Rita’s also a frequent wearer of an oversized shirt, especially mens, or a cool print tee. She usually pairs her oversized items with leather leggings or baggy drop crotch bottoms, which are on trend if you are looking for a comfortable alternative look to leggings. To make the outfit look effortlessly glamorous, a fur coat is the perfect statement, paired with a statement hat that Rita wears backwards.
(Items – Faux fur jacket – Nelly.com, Top, leggings, hat and sunglasses – all ASOS, Jordans trainers – Footlocker, Bag – River Island)
Similar to Iggy and many other current artist’s stage outfits, the co-ord trend this Summer is massive and Rita always manages to puts her own spin on it. The adventurously raging with style Rita always knows how to make a statement. See girls, it is proven that all white can work!
Many of Rita’s stage outfits follow a classic theme and follow one colour scheme so they always stand out. For example a blue co-ord or a black co-ord. It is a necessity for Rita to show off her impressive physique so her mid-riff on show is a regular occurrence in her stage outfits. (Can’t compain about that!)
If a masculine suit esque outfit isn’t your thing, there is always an alternative of a smart skirt to make you feel that more feminine. The female suit trend is huge right now and it’s always great to try out new trends out of your comfort zone. For example, For an alternative for tailored trousers in the suit you could wear some high waisted bottoms or jeans to give it a less formalistic look.
She always looks completely stunning and glamorous, like she ditched the urban street chic look, for a very feminine, simple but statement look. Rita usually goes for block colours as her statement and very minimal, dainty jewellery and a simple clutch matching the dress to compliment the dresses that speak for themselves. Again, complimenting and modestly accentuating her incredible physique, a plunge line v shaped front is the evening event look Rita usually goes for, which never fails to get her into the celebrity tabloids as one of the hottest in the ‘hot or not’ lists. The looks never fail to compliment her signature Gwen Stefani esque blonde hair and red lip look.
Chilly night? For a slight cover up and ounce of warmth, a white tailored blazer over the shoulders will help you to achieve a classic, monochrome hollywood glamour esque look, without you freezing! It’s a win win situation.
Tip – Always match your hardware to make the outfit look more put together and for all the pieces to correspond with each other. The envelope clutchbag with gold hardware and the heels with a gold buckle, teamed with a gold necklace will give the feel of a more put together look.
