We’ve managed to get our hands on another one of our brand new popstars to force them to ask the six questions we ask everybody. We didn’t have to force him actually, he was quite charming and willing.
Today, you’ll be getting to know Britain’s Got Talent’s Calum Scott a little bit better.
Tell us why we should listen to you in 140 characters or less…
You will get to hear, for the first time, my original material which I have been working hard on for the past 6 months since I sang ‘Dancing On My Own’ which has been viewed more than 48.5 million times which is amazing, truly overwhelmed at that!
If you had to compare the sound of your music to a crisp flavour, which would you pick and how do they relate?
I would say Prawn Cocktail because it is strong, people would know it was Prawn Cocktail with their eyes shut and it has a little zing in it that makes you want more (and you will get some people who vomit at the smell of it…)
What was the first single you ever bought and has it inspired the music you release today?
I think the first single I ever bought was a Michael Jackson one and his music and performances have always inspired me! I haven’t got an MJ sound but he has definitely influenced me and my music!
Picture the scene… You have found a time machine and been sent back to the year 1996. You have been selected to become a member of a band known as the Spice Girls. What would your nickname be?
I don’t know.. maybe because I’m from Hull, we have ‘chip spice’ up here on our chips as standard, sort of like Nando’s peri salt.. so the Hull in me says, ‘Chip Spice’
If you were given a pet cat and told you had to name it after an existing popstar, what would you name it?
I would call my cat, Psy and just pray it doesn’t do Gangnam Style every day…
Can you tell us that you love us?
Calum’s debut single ‘Dancing On My Own’ is released on March 11. Pre-Order here.
