The fab people that brought us ‘Despicable Me‘ have just delivered the second trailer for their latest animated sensation ‘Sing‘. It looks pretty incred if you ask us, with some serious big-shots in the cast. But we bet you didn’t know that this up-and-coming star can not only wow us with his acting abilities, but also has a crackin’ pair of lungs.
Yep, turns out Taron Egerton’s vocal chords aren’t too shabby, monkeying around with his own rendition of Sam Smith’s ‘Stay With Me’.
Pretty good, huh? And the rest of the film looks like a hoot too.
Buster (Matthew McConaughey), a koala, decides to host a singing competition in the hopes of reviving and saving the theatre he owns. Most of the town auditions, including Rosita (Reese Witherspoon), who plays the classic role of a pig who gave up her teenage dream for motherhood. The film also features Tori Kelly, who voices Meena, a talented elephant with stage fright, Scarlett Johansson as the alternative-rock porcupine. And, of course, Taron Egerton, who lends his wonderful vocals to the young gorilla, Johnny, who’s mixed up in his father’s crimes.
We can’t wait, tbh. We especially can’t wait for our ears to be melted down to mush by Taron Egerton. He sure is full of surprises. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to put on our patient shoes, because the film isn’t scheduled to be released until as late as early 2017. We’re sure it’ll be worth it, though.
