Shawn Mendes is just smashing the UK charts, nbd

Shawn Mendes is the name on everyone’s lips right now. (Not only because of his cover of ‘History’ recently).

His global hit single, ‘Stitches’ has stormed to #4 on the UK Official Singles Chart this week, and is currently battling for the #1 spot on iTunes.

Earlier this week, Shawn Mendes performed at the People’s Choice Awards, and walked away with the Favourite Breakout Artist award. In addition to winning the People Choice Award, Shawn was recently named as one of Forbes 30 under 30 – highlighting him as one of the brightest young talents in the world.

Shawn was also chosen as the 2015 Allan Slaight Honour Recipient at Canada’s Walk of Fame – following in the footsteps of previous winners The Weeknd and Drake.

‘Stitches’ continues to grow on all platforms. With over 270 million streams to date, it sits at #5 on the Global Spotify Chart. The video has been viewed over 154 million times, and the single has been certified SILVER in the UK already.

‘Stitches’, following its premiere on Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 show in December, has been played over 1500 times on UK radio, and has just been added to the Radio 1 A List, and is also on the playlist at Capital FM and Kiss FM.

’Stitches’ is taken from Shawn’s repackaged album ‘Handwritten Revisited’. The special re-package includes live versions of five tracks from the original album, and four brand new songs. One of the new songs is ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’.

Shawn had a very busy 2015, and this year looks set to be no different. Last year, Shawn supported Taylor Swift on her colossal ‘1989 World Tour’, between May and October.

In between these shows, he headlined his very own sold out shows in the U.S, and back on UK soil, he played a sold out Shepherd’s Bush Empire in September, which sold out in a matter of minutes!

This year is going to be massive for Shawn and we can’t wait to be part of the ride.
