Describe the plot of ‘Second Chance Summer’ in a tweet – less than 140 characters please!
Taylor learns her father has 3 months to live, the family spend 1 last summer together Taylor learns to appreciate her family a lot more.

Without giving anything away, does the ending make you want to read the next in the series?
I think the ending of the book is bitter-sweet. It wraps up all the characters’ stories, but I would love to see what happens to the family next.

What genre would you class the book as?
I would class this book as both a romance and bit of a coming-of-age story.

What was the best bit?
My favourite bit was near the end when Taylor’s grandfather came and she learnt about constellations and brought her dad out to see them. That scene made me a cry a little bit,it was so beautifully written.

Anything you didn’t like?
The character of Gelsey could have been used a bit more. I felt like we didn’t get to know her much so I didn’t feel as connected as I did to other characters.

Have you read anything by Morgan Matson before? If not, does this make you want to read her other titles?
This was my first taste of Morgan’s work, but I will definitely be reading her other titles.

Would you recommend the ‘Second Chance Summer’ to your friends?
Yes .

Would you pick up ‘Second Chance Summer’ if you saw it in the shop?
Yes I would. The cover is really good and the blurb gives you a really good idea of what the story is about.

Do you think it would appeal to girls or boys more? Or both?
I think it appeals more to girls.

Anything else you’d like to tell us about the book?
I think this book has everything you could want for a Summer read. It’s got romance ,angst and is also a bit sad. But Taylor is a really easy character to like and you end up really connecting with her.

Handling emotions and adult stuff like Jess Day and Nick Miller do.
I'm a bit awkward but really nice. I have a turtle called Turtle and I believe in the "You should take a nap every day".
