Rita Ora’s new single ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ is a certified, feel-good summer banger and thankfully the majority of the British public seem to agree. The track is currently on course to hit the top spot this Sunday, claiming Ora her fourth chart topper and nudging last week’s number one Mr. Probz’ ‘Waves’ down to number two.
Meanwhile in the rest of the Top 10 the Eurovision effect is in full swing with new entries from Austria’s Conchita Wurst, whose OTT ballad ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’ settles at 9, while The Netherlands’ understated country track ‘Calm After The Storm’ by The Common Linnets comes in at number 5. British hopeful Molly doesn’t do too badly herself with ‘Children Of The Universe’ landing firmly at number 10. The European whistle stop tour of the Top 40 concludes with Sweden’s Sanna Nielson and Denmark’s Basim who’ve also managed to make a dent in the outer reaches of the chart with their own Eurovision entries ‘Undo’ and ‘Clique Love Song’. Not bad, guys!
Hmmm do you guys reckon Rita should be worried about all this Eurovision competition in the race for number 1 this week? Well, we’ll have to wait ’til Sunday to find out!
