Radio 1’s Big Weekend is always an event to remember but this year was even more spectacular than usual. If you didn’t manage to get tickets don’t worry because we’ve done a round-up of all the best performances of the weekend. You’ve never seen so much confetti in your life!
Prepare to banish the FOMO forever!
1) Ellie Goulding – ‘Love Me Like You Do’
Ellie might still be getting over her break-up with Dougie Poynter but she proved she’s a natural born fighter by rocking khaki hotpants and a bulletproof vest during her set this weekend. No need for security, Ellie is her own bodyguard.
2) Jess Glynne – ‘Hold My Hand’
In the words of Tinie Tempah, Jess Glynne is “ready for the summer and her hair looks killer”. Her sunshine-filled performance of ‘Hold My Hand’ is everything, but the highlight is the backing dancer who is practically her doppelganger. Looks like Jess is recruiting for her own army of Glynnettes with circular sunglasses.
3) Nick Jonas – ‘Jealous’
We’re certainly jealous of all the people who got to see Nick Jonas’ amazing falsetto in the flesh.
4) Meghan Trainor – ‘NO’
Meghan might be singing ‘NO’ but we’re definitely saying “YES” to this sassy performance.
5) Years & Years – ‘King’
It’ll be years and years before we’re over this killer performance. Sales of army-print dungarees have just gone up by precisely 327%.
6) The 1975 – ‘The Sound’
We love the sound of The 1975’s set.
Take That are back with a bang. Their new song might be about crying but it’s more of a floorfiller than tear-filled.
8) Alessia Cara – ‘Here’
Everyone at Powderham Castle was glad Alessia Cara was here.
9) OneRepublic – ‘Wherever I Go’
We love OneRepublic wherever they go.
10) Coldplay – ‘Hymn for the Weekend’
Coldplay closed the festival and they more than made up for the lack of Beyoncé with their roof-raising performance with ALL the pyrotechnics you could ever want.
