NEWS: Pierce Brown reveals continuation to ‘Red Rising’ series and fans go bonkers

It has been revealed on USA Today that Pierce Brown, author of the ‘Red Rising’ series, will write a three part addition to the beloved universe.

We’re not even going to bother telling you to be calm.

“The  new trilogy takes place after the end of ‘Morning Star’ and will center on the consequences of the hero’s actions as well as on those folks now living and growing up in a landscape that’s had its ruling order shattered.”

It has been dubbed ‘Iron Gold’ and Twitter is already running rampant with the hashtag.

…We’re sold. Where do we pre-order?

And will it feature our favourite characters? Well, Sevro fans will be pleased to hear he’ll be making an appearance, and the feisty Mustang is also confirmed.

Anyone that has read the ‘Red Rising’ trilogy will already know that Brown does not pull any punches. The stories are dark, gritty and freakin’ heart breaking in places. This new cycle of books emerges in the wake of every decision our previous protagonist, Darrow, has made.

So what’s this new ‘world’ like? Brown says “I think you can pretty much bet it’ll be dark ages for a little while.”

And we’re weirdly glad to hear it. (Oh Pierce, we love it when you hurt us. It makes the sweeter moments so much more… sweet?)

With ‘Morning Star’, the final part of the ‘Red Rising’ trilogy having been only released this month, it’s difficult to imagine having to wait a year, or more, for the new book.

But we’ll wait.

Oh, we will wait…
