Pharrell’s ‘Happy’ is the the UK’s most downloaded track of all time! Wowza!

Pretty much everyone and their grandmother has downloaded a copy of Pharrell’s ‘Happy’, right? Well, now it’s official: The big wigs at the Official Charts Company have confirmed that the song is the UK’s most downloaded track of all time!

This makes a hat trick of million selling hits for the singer and producer, alongside Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines’ – which he produced – and his feature on Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’. Speaking about the achievement, the over-sized hat enthusiast said;

“I would just like to say thank you, first and foremost, to the people, because the charts are determined by them. I have a lot to be thankful for because they’ve chosen these things and it’s resulted in Happy being what it’s become.The people of the UK have been so supportive of me over the years, allowing me to be an artist and allowing me to work with other people and supporting what it is that I do. That’s the lifeline, without them you’re just a musician with a couple of ideas but with them, that is the thing that changes everything when they get involved, your little idea can become something, so …thank you!’’

Pharrell is also headlining the iTunes Festival 2014 on Wednesday 10th September so let’s hope we get to hear some of these mega hits during his set. Congrats!
