We’ve all dreamed of being photographed with the One Direction lads, right? Well soon its going to be a little bit more achievable as Louis, Liam, Niall, Zayn and Harry are all going to be made into waxworks for Madame Tussauds. The boys will then go on a world-tour, spending three months stints in London, New York and then Sydney.
It was probably only a matter of time before the world’s biggest boyband were made into a tourist attraction. They’ve been top of the most wanted personalities lists all across the world. The lads have now been poked, weighed and measured by the sculptors in two sittings where hundreds of measurements were made to ensure that the wax figures, that cost £150,000 each to make, look exactly like the real boys. The sculptors’ work will be under the very close scrutiny of all the flocks of One Direction fans who know every minute detail of the band’s appearance. But the wax figures won’t just look like the band; the sculptors “want to inject something of the boys’ energy and personalities into their figures too”. Quite how they plan to replicate their fantastic, other-worldly hair we’re not sure.
The boys were excited and delighted to be turned into wax figures, with Harry a big fan of the museum in London. The idea of two sets of One Direction is daunting for the band too. Louis said, “It’s going to be quite weird to see yourself but it’s an amazing honour”.
We can’t wait to take a seat next to the boys at the museum and pretend we’re best buddies. Provided we can make it through their throngs of fans.
